Autumn is in the air

Well, here in Southern California, we really aren't feeling fall so much but it will come. It just takes us longer.
But, I love to create cards for Autumn or Fall so I wanted to share this card.  I used some neat Paper Smooches stamps on my card.
I stamped the tree branches with white ink and embossed with white embossing powder and then colored those branches with some brown spray ink.  The white embossed lines resisted the spray color. I thought this was a fun way to color these stamps.  I used one green leaf because as the leaves are turning color and falling off there always seem to be a green leaf or two hanging on.
My card fits the CAS-UAL Fridays challenge.
And the CAS-ology Challenge.

Heartfelt Creations news!!!

I received a fun email this morning letting me know that I am one of the semi-finalists in the Design Team search at Heartfelt Creations!!! I have loved stamping for many, many years and I also love being on a DT so I knew I needed to give this a try.
Now I get to move onto the next step in this adventure but part of it is a voting by those who visit the Heartfelt Creations blog so pop on over and vote for the semi-finalists that you love
Here are my cards for my application
I used this stamp to create my card and flowers, Striped Sun Kissed Fleur Stamp.  I loved that one stamp could create the entire background of my card and then when I stamped it again, I was able to cut out the individual flowers.
I stamped the entire stamp with white ink and then embossed that with white embossing powder, both by Clearsnap.  I then rubbed the whole piece with a pink Fluid Chalk stamp pad to make it pink.
For this card, I cut out some of the flowers from the same stamp and colored them with Copic markers.
Thanks for visiting and thanks if you were able to take the time to vote for me

Fun stuff to share

Because I found a couple more online challenges to work with, I have a couple new cards to share with you.
I pulled out some Paper Smooches stamps and a piece of My Mind's Eye paper to create my card. I used the CAS(e) this Sketch for this week as well as the neat color combination at Colour Q.
To get my splash of another color for the Colour Q combo, I masked the little telephone and sprayed my piece of plain white cardstock with a great yellow Stephanie Barnard Spray ink from Clearsnap.  I think that is such a fun way to add some color.
Here is the CAS(e) this Sketch.
And the Colour Q combo.
I also wanted to play with the Seize the Sketch challenge.  I pulled out some really fun Simple Stories products.
It was so fun to create a little grouping with the matching products in this collection.
Here is the Seize the Sketch challenge.

Not ready for Fall

Yes, today is the first day of fall but I am holding onto Summer, screaming, throwing a little tantrum!!!
Now, I really do love the colors of fall and with that I always find it fun to create fall projects but I love the longer hours of sunlight that summer brings so I don't let hold of that easily but no one ask me and fall is marching on. I did want to create a card to celebrate fall arriving today. I used the new retro sketch and some Paper Smooches stamps. The black striped piece is a piece of Paper Tape. I love Paper Tape so I wanted to create another project using that.
The patterned paper is from a mini pad from Echo Park.  This was so easy with these really cute, fall themed stamps.
 Here is the retro sketch.
Another card I wanted to share is one that I created to go with the 10 minute craft dash.  This super adorable set of stamps from Paper Smooches and a variety of Clearsnap stamp pads made this really fast and easy.
The little cups actually stamp solid and I added the leaves and the smoke with stamps.

Here is the 10 minute craft dash.

First Christmas card!

First off, a fun toot!

A card I created with some Paper Smooches stamps is featured in this newsletter. Hop on over to get a peek.

Next up,
I wanted to use the retro sketch so this card was created.
It was fun to give it a Christmas theme.
The colors in the first picture are a little more accurate, it is sometimes hard to show the colors as they actually are.  The bigger circle is a Hero Arts stamp and the smaller one is a Paper Smooches stamp. The snowflake is Hero Arts.
 Here is the retro sketch.
This card was created to go along with a Colour Q color combination but I was too late to submit it to that challenge.
I used a super fun new stamp from Stampin' Up with it's matching die shape. I love this tag shape.  The background is created with a stencil and some Stephanie Barnard Clearsnap spray inks.

Here is the Colour Q combo.

Get Well greetings

I'll tell you, making a get well card is way too much fun with this great die cut word from Paper Smooches!
Addicted to CAS has a challenge this week for a Get Well card.  I find I want to find all of the cute ways to use this die cut that I can think of!!! Of course, the simple way is to have it going across the front of my card.
Two of my other super favorite things to use are spray inks and stencils so the background to this card was fast and easy using them.  I used a stencil from Pink Paislee and a few different shades of spray inks from the Stephanie Barnard collections by Clearsnap.

Stamping and Die Cutting

You know I love stamping so for this first card I turned to the Colour Q combination for my inspiration.
I also turned to a set of Hero Arts stamps, I love this leaf stamp.  I picked out some Distress Stains that I felt fit the color combination.  Each leaf was stamped in a different color by simply inking the feather in each of the colors.  The Distress Stains are so easy to use and give a neat watercolor look.
I also added matching dots to each leaf.

Here is the Colour Q combination.
(ETA) I am adding the following card to the Moxie Fab challenge to use paper tape.
I love dies too and I wanted to use this great word "thanks" from Paper Smooches.  I also wanted to use some of the great paper tapes that I have.  I think they are so fun to use and easy too.
At first my thought was to just cut the word out of the white cardstock and then back that paper with black so the negative of the word showed off well.  For some reason I placed the cut out word back into the space it was cut out of and I really liked that look, the black background still gave a neat accent.

Some blue here and some blue there

My two cards today show off some great shades of blue.
First of all, I used the Seize the Sketch and created this card.
I just received some neat, new stencils from Clearsnap and I knew this one with small hexagons would work just right with the sketch.  I used a blending sponge and two colors of Clearsnap inks, only adding color to some of the hexagons.  I also gave the finished card front a spritz of some Clearsnap spray ink.  The stamps stamped with black ink are from Paper Smooches, the stamp inked with the soft blue is a stamp from Close to My Heart.
Here is the Seize the Sketch.
Next up I wanted to play along with the 10 minute Craft Dash.  This challenge uses three neat colors together.  I didn't actually time my project down to the minutes and seconds but since I basically only needed to repeatedly stamp this great burst stamp from Hero Arts, this really was a fast and easy card.
The three colors of ink are done with some Clearsnap inks and I added some additional interest with matching Liquid Pearls.
Here is the 10 minute Craft Dash.

Ready for school

I wanted to share this layout.  The pictures show my grandson's first day of school experience from last year.  These two pages were published in Northridge Publishing's Sketch book.  The sketch I used was actually for just the first page but I went ahead and created a two page layout so I could use more pictures.
Most of the elements were from a digital kit at Design House Digital.  I thought this kit was so fun with some great papers in it.  The different patterns made it easy to use one of the sketches in the book. The black chevron patterned accents are a stamp from Hero Arts.
He was so excited and so proud of his new uniform and his adorable backpack. Same for this year with more pictures to scrap.
Here is the book the layout is published in. I love sketches so books like this are always so fun to have on hand for inspiration.

Sketch Love

I love sketches, but I love, love, love this one!!!! As soon as I saw the examples for this sketch by the DT at CAS(e) this Sketch, I knew it would be so fun to play with.
I thought of this die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I could have used just one of the halves after I cut it but I thought why not use both halves.  I still used the sketch as my inspiration, I just added a little more detail.
The sentiment is from Avery Elle, I love the font of these sentiments.  Those cute little buttons are from Queen & Co.
Here is the CAS(e) this sketch.

Gotta love sketches

I finally found some play time and so I went to a few online challenges, always great for inspiration.
First up, I used the retro sketch for this week.  I coupled that with the Cas-ual Friday "She's Krafty" challenge.  The patterned paper is from Echo Park, I used both sides of the paper.
I love this little chipboard drinking jar and the card is also decorated with a few tiny flowers from the same set.
 Here is the retro sketch.
Here is the Cas-ual Fridays challenge.
For this card I wanted to use the CAS(e) this sketch.  I thought it was a pretty fun and different sketch.
The black, chalkboard looking label is from Stampin' Up.  It is from a set with matching dies.

Here is the CAS(e) this sketch.
